Today we drove down to Holbrook, AZ.,and went to the Petrified Forest National Park.
Standing in front of the Painted Desert. The weather is closing in on us in the background.
Puebloean Ruins dated back about 1200 AD.
These petroglyphs tell many stories of that time.
The storm is moving and we see this pronghorn is hunkering down.
Petrified Wood.
What some people do to get a picture.
These trees were buried in mud for millions of years.
By not getting any oxygen, the carbon oxidized into stone.
Over thousands of years, the mud was washed away and uncovered them.
Well, tomorrow we head to Phoenix, and Monday back home.
See you then,
Ralph, Prilly & Sue
