DAY 7

Welcome All,

Today we headed out to explore more of Yellowstone. The sun was shining and the birds
were chirping. Last night we got a dusting of snow but it's melting off fast.

We're not sure what kind of geese these were.

This guy sure could get his point across.

Snow-covered grass just sparkled.

Winter wonderland.

My two Amigos.

There is our first Grizzly Bear and what a beauty.

He is about a half mile away, good thing for us.

Despite their impressive size, grizzlies are quite fast and have been clocked at 30 miles an hour,
so forget trying to outrun them.

Average life span in the wild: 25 years Size: 5 to 8 ft Weight: 800 lbs

This guy is enjoying a peanut.

We spot another coyote.

Home on the range.

I'm still drying out from yesterday.

On golden pond.

This guy is a hitchhiker. He rides around on the backs of buffalo and eat bugs off them.

Where did I drop my Timex?
This is very unusual to find a pronghorn by himself.

Buffalo Crossing.

As we are heading home we see this mom elk and her two babies chasing off a coyote.
Look to the far right of the picture to see the coyote.

The coyote decided to retreat.

After the ordeal, one of the babies nurses for comfort.

We think the day is over and then we spot this grizzy bear.

He is almost to close for comfort.

Hold the phone ! It's not a he but a she, and she has two cubs.

What a way to wrap up a great day.

Tomorrow we head out of the park and head east across Wyoming.

See you on Day 8
