DAY 8

Howdy All,
Sorry we are running behind on the page today, got in real late last night.

Today we head out of West Yellowstone and cut through the park and out the East entrance,
then across Wyoming heading for South Dakota.

It's early morning and frost on the ground. We spot this coyote looking for something to eat.

We go by this big stag and he was so busy eating that he wouldn't even raise his head.

That water looks cold even for these ducks. It's like they are saying you get in first !

The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. The Canyon varies 800 to 1200 feet in depth and
1500 to 4000 feet in width.

It's length is about 24 miles.

The lower falls are over 300 feet tall.

We are at the top of the lower falls. In order to get here,
you have to hike 3/4 of a mile down a drop of 600 feet. Going down is easy, coming back up is another story.

Upper falls are only about 200 feet tall but are still spectacular !

We head South toward Yellowstone Lake and see these two swans.

We get to this thermal area and find this new hole next to the road, and it is just bellowing.
The picture does not do it justice.

Click here to view The spouting hole.

Here is a place in the parking lot where the pavement has melted and caved in and steam is rising.

Yellowstone Lake, in it's splendid glory.

It sure looks cold.

We spot what we think is a young bald eagle.

What a pretty day we are blessed with.

The Three Amigos.

We had taken so many pictures today we could not finish today's page,
but will continue it tomorrow.

See you on Day 9
