Today we headed south to the Redwood National Park in California, home of the giant redwoods.
On the way we get off on the wrong road. While I find out where we went wrong, Prilly and Sue meet a new friend
next to the road.
Soon, by using their charm, they had him eating out of their hands and rolling over on command.
Finally we reach California
Coming into the redwood forest we go by this beautiful gorge.
Entering the forest.
Until you get a car or someone standing next to these it's hard to grasp the size.
It was supposed to rain today but so far it has just sprinkled.
It's hard to imagine a tree as tall as a 20 -story building.
You feel like Alice in wonderland.
We spot a couple of mule deer.
Prilly and Sue find a tree to hide out in.
This place is a must see in your lifetime.
We stop in Crescent City for the night right on the coast.
The waves were breaking over the sea wall.
Even though it was a cloudy, rainy day the beach was very crowded.
Someone had to run them off.
Battery Point Light House
Built in 1856, it was then known as the Crescent City Light Station.
The light house is only accessible at low tide.
Tomorrow we head up the west coast to Newport, Oregon.
See you then.
