The one-arm bandits in Vegas got us for about 50 bucks so we decided
to pull up stakes and head for Zion National Park and then on to Kanab, Utah
for the night.
The Lord blessed us with another beautiful day and we got some great pictures.
On our way to Zion we were blessed first by seeing this pasture of baby colts.
They were still learning how to keep their feet under them.
Here is a clip of the colts you won't want to miss. Click here to view colt clip
You now have to take a bus into the main canyon of the park.
This is a good thing cause the last time we were here there was no
parking anywhere, with a big traffic jam that made it impossible to get around.
Sue tried to catch me drinking from this well.
I spotted this wild-looking lizard.
The rock walls are impressive.
We hike up to Weeping Rock
The temp must drop 20 degrees up here.
There is a cool breeze as you can see.
Looking down at Weeping Rock.
There's a tree hugger.
I told the girls where the trail was and they would not believe me
'till they ask some guy working there. I hate it when I am right.
They're still not sure where they are going.
The Three Amigos.
We decide it's impossible to capture the height of these walls.
We head back to our car and take Route 6 through the rest of the park
We called this one whipped rock.
Check out the whirled top of this rock hill.
We get to the end of the park and are counting our blessing of this great day
and I said it would have been perfect if we had seen some bighorn sheep
Less than 3 minutes later, there they were. A whole herd !
WOW !
These two little guys were thinking about jumping.
For the people that have asked I am now useing a Canon SX20 Power Shot.
It is 12 MP and has a X20 optical zoom.
Tomorrow we head to the North rim of the Grand Canyon.
See you tomorrow.
