DAY 11

Hi All,
Well today we got off to a late start but still had fun. If you're out roaming the roads,
just stop at a local dinner in Del Norte on Rt 160, and ask the people who live around there, just where to go.
Today we met a fellow named Ken Carpenter, and his wife and they gave us great tips
on where to go, and what to see. After leaving the diner, about 10 miles down the road,
we hear someone honking at us. Well, forgetful Sue had left her glasses on the table and they
had picked them up and chased us down to give them to us.
Thanks Ken for looking out for this poor girl.

Country Family Inn, good food and good prices.

We head down the road into God's country.

This stream is the headwaters of the mighty Rio Grande.

As Prilly falls backwards into the river, we realize that she has the keys to the Jeep.

Darn, they just closed down for the season.

Crossing Wolf Creek Pass at 10,750 ft.

Looks like those girls are eating so well out here, that they're bending the fence.

This Western Bluejay was hungry.

We stopped at Treasure Falls

Prilly loses a hand.

This was a great hike up to the falls. ( Thanks, Ken )

It was over 100 feet tall.

The girls both needed a shower.

This was cold water but felt great.

On down the road we see some buffalo, but they are fenced in,
soon to be buffalo burgers.

It's horse country out here, they're everywhere.

We wanted to stop at Chimney Rock, it was a sacred site for the Native Americans.

We think these are elk with those white butts, but just too far away to tell.

See you tomorrow.
