In these gardens, they give a whole new meaning to stay on the paths.

You all know that this is a Saguaro cactus.
But did you know that the root system runs out as far as the thing is tall in all directions, but only 6 inches deep.
Sure doesn't look like Florida !
This is a prickly pear in full bloom.
The nice thing about coming here in May is the desert is in full bloom.
This mourning dove is looking for a home.
We should tell her that Florida trees are much more comfortable
We decided to sit and let the birds come to us.
This is a female cardinal. As you can see their tail and crown are much bigger out here.
Here is her mate. He dosen't look happy.
She must be spending to much time in the gift shop.
Here is Arizona quail. Neat thing about this bird is they don't belive in divorce.
They mate for life.
This is no place to go barefoot !
Even the squirrels are hot out here.
Here is a woodpecker who found a real tree. He must be tired of pecking cactus.
This is a Zebra Longwing butterfly.
This is a Julia butterfly.
Here is a White Peacock.
And last but not least a Buckeye butterfly.
