This is the view that we woke up to in the morning
at the motel where we spent the night.
Mounting up to hit the trail. That's Sue on Wild Eye Leo, Prilly
on Tim McGraw and myself on D-K.
This is our guide Stewart of Capital Reef Back Country Outfitters.
This was a great 2hr trail ride.
The scenery was spectacular.
At this point Sue and I were glad
we weren't taking the half day ride.
After 2 hours Sue is still smiling or is she grinding
her teeth in pain ?
Prilly wants to know if we can go again.
Going into Capital Reef Park.
These are petroglyphs that are about 1000 years old.
Looking up at the hoodoos.
Would you believe that a family of 10 used to live in this cabin.
A new type of wild flower we haven't seen yet.
We had to take a slight detour here.
The road was washed out by the last flash flood.
Good thing we have four -wheel drive.
This is a fault line down the center of the park.
Exploring the fault line.
Cool formations.
Now we have to drive our way out of this hole up these cutbacks. Water penetrating the rock freezes, then expands to break off the rock.
This is the road that comes from the center of the park and
runs west to Boulder. It's a large canyon miles long.
Another cool canyon.
Getting dark and the deer are out in force.
Two youngsters rompimg in the woods.
The sun is setting on another beautiful day.
Tomorrow we head to Las Vegas.
See you then,
Ralph , Prilly & Sue
