Thursday Day 5

Today we go to Belize in Central America. We will be taking a tour down the river Wallace
and then to some Mayan Ruins. This is Joyce, our guide for the day.

And away we go !

We first spot some manatees in the water.

This is a termite nest.

We spot our first Crocodile.

This guy was right over our head, in a tree. Only a 4 footer.

These birds have a very loud squawk. The nest is hanging down so it makes it hard for preditors to attack them.

This is their racoon. Notice the long tail like a monkey.

There are the monkeys.

They sleep 70 % of the time.

They live and play high in the trees.

Looks like a hibiscus.

These mayan ruins were built about 500 years BC. In this temple they found the Sun God, a very high priest.
On his tomb was a life size replica of his head made of pure jade.

The cloaking vine is the out side tree.

Don't know what this is but it's one cool plant.

The day ends. As we pull away from Belize we spot this little island in the middle of nowhere.
