A storm came through in the middle of the night and knocked out the power on the whole west coast
No hot coffee, and no heat. We drive for an hour before we find hot coffee.
Today is a travel day. We head down the West coast and then cut over to the East coast.
We stop along the coast to check out the beaches.
It's cold and raining off and on here today.
More stoney beaches.
I spot two penguins on the beach. Oh it's Prilly and Sue looking for more rocks.
We hike into a rain forest to find a waterfall.
And what a waterfall it is!
The water here is a turquoise color and very clear.
Oh no, more rocks for Sue to pick up.

A lot of mountain lakes here.
They're all so blue.
The front seat is trying to zone out all the bickering that is going on in the back.
We land in a small town of Oamaru on the East coast.
The motels are so different here. We have to help the owner to move
more beds into the room.
They are all mom and pop motels.

We finish up the day playing cards.
Tomorrow we head up the East coast back to Christchurch.
