The Cottonwood Road

Monday Day 6 - Exploring the Cottonwood Road !
Today will be our last full day here so we decide to take a road trip.
Just over into Utah is a road that we found back in 2003 called the Cottonwood road. A 30 mile strip of wonderment.
In 2003 in was a old dirt road that no one traveled but is now a National Monument and people come from all
over the world to study it's secrets.

This road is very dry but becomes impassable when it rains. But as you can see life still springs up in the dry mud.

This is spring and the wild flowers are pushing up wherever they can find a place in this dry landscape.

We find an area of proof of a long ago sea bed.

We saw a sign that said open range then all at once this guy pops out in front of us.
Good thing this car isn't red.

Oh look it's a Calfeteria !

Glad we were not here when that rock slide happened.

Sue told us that these were old dinosaur bones. I guess only she would know that.

We come across what looks like a melting mountain and this guy is pushing right up through it.

This piece of earth has pushed up and exposed its secrets. It's bigger than you think, see Prilly in the picture?

Natures artwork.

Something is pushing up these sections of earth.

It's to bad that all the wires go through here but I will bet that's why the road is here.

Cactus are blooming.

Barrel Cactus.

Not a flower you would want to pick.

We find a cool canyon to explore.

A lot of green in such a dry place.

The road takes a turn and the rock color and texture changes.

Have you ever seen such a diversified landscape?

We stop at Grosvener Arch.
See me waving?

We come to Bryce Canyon National Park.

And then into Red Canyon.

More hoodoos.

It's getting late in the day so we take one last look and head for Page. Can you find the goat on the cliff?

I got your goat - Neither could we.

See you tomorrow !
