DAY 7

Hi all,
Today we head over to Burlington Vermont. It is only about 80 miles from here but
were're going to take the scenic route

We first head east to Killington. On the way out of town we spot this beautifual stone church.

Look at that color.

The girls want to go play in a creek so they can get stoned, I guess.

Oh Dear I think Prilly got stoned.

Wait, your not going to leave me out here are you?

I think Sue plans on leaving me. Thank goodness Prilly saves me.

I get a bright idea to enter covered bridges in Vermont in my GPS garmin and see that there
are 2 just 30 miles east of us. As we are going through Tafsville we pass
one that was not showing on the GPS and it's a beauty.

Built in 1836 it is the 3rd oldest covered bridge in the state.

It is 200 feet long making it the 2nd longest in the state.

Heading further east we get to our next covered bridge only to find out it is the Covered Bridge Savings and Loan
and their other branch is not far from here. So the GPS can't tell a bank from a bridge. At least we found
the one we were not looking for, so all 30 miles was not lost.

We jump on route 89 north and head to 107 east that will take us over the mountains to route 7 north.
When we turn onto 107 we find this little old town called Bethel.

We stop for lunch at this old time cafe but they are way under staffed. After waiting 30min just to get waited on
we decide to just order milkshakes and head on. As slow as this place was, had we ordered lunch we might have had
it for dinner. So we drink up and head out.

On down the road we see how much this town loves halloween.
Next to the road is the headless horsemen.

And just down the road is his headless wife.

They turned Micky Mouse into a pumpkin head.

On our way out of town the construction crew waves good by.

We drive over the mountain and up to Berlington where we will spend the next three nights.
We check into a Comfort Inn and it was a real nice one. WE had asked for a room with 2
Queens and she gave us a suite that was as big as two rooms at no extra charge.

Tomorrow we will check out the Morgan Horse Farm and the Shelburne Museum.

See you on Day 8 Ralph, Prilly & Sue
