Today the sun came out and what a difference!

Half Dome in the morning sun.

I think my models need another cup of coffee.

This is El Capitan, a rock climber's dream.

You have to look real hard to find them on this 3000-foot piece of rock.

My camera not only finds them but puts you right on the ledge with them.

Sue talked us into horseback riding again so we contacted Yosemite Trails Pack Station
to go on a 2-hour trail ride. Our guide was Lance, who is on a Summer break from University
of the Pacific, where he plays a rigorous sport, water polo.

Our other guide was Eric, who was just great with a couple of little ones who joined us.

First they made us wear a helmet to take some lessons on neck raining, and
controlling your horse. I'm thinking what is this all about. Don't they have autopilot
on these things?

Wow ! these horses do what you tell them. Stop, go, turn, and turn real sharp.
We soon found out why all the lessons. This was a horseback ride we would never forget.

If you are looking for a challanging ride this is it.

We forded rivers.

Scaled steep mountain sides.

The view is awesome, but you sure don't want to fall off your horse. It would be a big drop.

Up and down steep trails.

Over hills and dales.

Through deep snow packs at times.

This river was so deep your feet were almost in the water.

Somehow we all survived and had the best ride ever. If you want adventure, Yosemite Trails is the ultimate!
The horses are well-mannered and trained to handle all obstacles on the trail.

We had planned to go over Tioga Pass, but it is still closed due to snow. So we are
spending one more night here and then heading toward Phoenix on Sunday. Tomorrow
Glacier Point.

See you then.
