DAY 18

Hi All,

Today we head back into Olympic National Park and head up to Hurricane Ridge. On the way
we see these guys hanging out by the road.

Mt. Olympus

Hurricane Ridge

We head back down and stop at a lookout facing north. If you look carefully right over the tree, you can see Mt. Baker
standing over 10,780 feet, two miles high.

Prilly has these birds eating out of her hand.

These birds are very well fed.

These geese better get heading South.

Crescent Lake

You have never see a more pristine lake.

The fall colors are at their peak.

This lake is so clear, with crystal blue water, the visablity must be 100 feet or more.

Blessed with another beautiful day.

We stopped at Cresent Lake Lodge for lunch.

Built in 1906, several famous politicians have stayed here, such as Theodore Roosevelt.

Loons on the lake

I swear, all we have had to drink is hot chocolate.

This big log is between 400-500 years old and the tree was 35 feet in diameter.

The center of this big cedar has been burned out in a fire but the tree still lives because its feeder
roots are on the outside of the tree, bringing nourishment to the branches above.

A great vaction coming to an end.

One last look of this jewel of a lake.

We spot this waterfall on the way home.

These comorants each have their own post.

We were blessed with another super day.

Tomorrow we head back to Seattle to catch our plane home on Tuesday. See you then,
Ralph, Prilly & Sue
