DAY 4

Still sunny and got up to 65 degrees today.

Today we decided to skip breakfast and get to the park before the sun came up.
We entered Grand Teton National Park about 7am just as the sun was breaking over the hills.
Our whole goal today was to get better wildlife pictures. The idea was to get there at day break
and track them down if we had to. Well it paid off.

Look closely at the forground of this picture, see the deer stirring?

That halo over the mountain is a good sign.

Well our first buffalo sighting. It looks like they just got up.

A deer pops his head up and says goodmorning.

Is it time to get up? Who is that guy?

Here comes the sun! It's going to be a glorious day.

We drove to the north end of the park and found this moose just off the road.

I was able to snap this just has she took off.

What we really wanted was a nice big bull moose with a big rack.
We had never seen one so we parked the car and headed into an area,
on foot, that we thought we might find one. We were about a half mile on an opposite hill
when Prilly spotted this doe moose and her baby. I then closed in for the picture.

As I was just getting into position I look to my right, and there it was,
in all his glory and the biggest rack I have ever seen. Thank you Jesus !
I motioned Prilly to come over and see what I had found.

She worked her way to me and by then the bull moose was playing hide and seek.

I told Prilly to whistle and she said, yeh, right. I had to do something to get him out in the open,
so I mooed like a cow. It worked. He came out and chased the other two moose up the hill.

Now what is he doing? Oh my, I think he is sharping his horns. This is not good.
Prilly is hollering about being to close.

Oh great, here he comes and he doesn't look too happy.

Ok, I'm out of here! I hope I can out run him.

Good thing he tired out before I did.
We were truly blessed by to have found him and were glad we could share it with you.

After all that excitment we took a hike around Jenny Lake.

We then left the park and went to Grand Teton Village in Jackson Hole. This is a big ski resort and like a city in it self.

After lunch we road the tram 2.5 miles up to 10,700 ft.

It sure didn't look this high from down there.

Glad I brought this jacket. At the summit it was 46 degrees with a 20 mph wind.

Looking back at Grand Teton National Park.

Where are my skis and some snow.

Going back down to where it's warm.

Coming down over the edge.

Look at those colors! We sure were blessed with another great day.

Such a great day it was !
Tomorrow we move to West Yellow Stone and start Yellow Stone National Park.
See you then,
Ralph & Prilly
