DAY 5

Welcome All,

Today we head 300 miles west to St. Louis to see the St. Louis Arch.

We first cross the Missouri River and it's running high.

We cross into Indiana.

Soon it's Illinois.

All at once the weather turns bad, wind rain and lightning, Good
thing we are only 20 miles from our motel. By the time we check in
the storm passes.

We head out for the Arch about 15 miles away.

We cross the Mississippi River into Missouri and St. Louis.

This is like the Grand Canyon. It's hard to grasp the size of this thing

Looking up at the top of the arch.

The outside of the arch is a layer of stainless steel.

We get our tickets for the tram to the top. There are 8 cars with 5 people in each car.
It's a tight squeeze but you don't want to walk up.

Once at the top you can stay as long as you want.

We picked a good time and day to do this.

The view up here is great. Over looking St. Louis.

Busch Stadium home of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Looking east over the Mssissippi.

At the top.

Looking down at the North side.

Looking down at the South side.

Group photo before we head down.

When you get back and see just how small you look under the arch you start
to appreciate the size.

Three hours ago it was looking real ugly out now look at that sky and tell me
we are not blessed.

Tomorrow we head to Nashville Tennessee.

See you on Day 6
Ralph , Prilly & Delaney & Jenna
