Day 7 Tuesday July 29

Hi all,
Today was a real big day. We took about 300 pictures so it was real hard to choose
which ones to put up on the site.

We start out the morning with Jesse telling Amanda's mom that he is being good.

We come out of our motel this morning and look up at the mountains around us.

Now we head out for our big adventure of exploring the Fox Glacier.

After a short bus ride we reach the helipad.

But first we have to boot up with special boots and wool socks.

Time to climb aboard.

Buckle up.

Ready for takeoff.

Fox Glacier coming into view.

Fox Glacier

Victoria Falls next to the glacier.

The water rushes right under the glacier.

We land in the middle of the glacier.

These are cramp-ons that we have to put on our boots so we can walk on the ice.

Now we start exploring this ice wonderland.

There are all kinds of tunnels and deep crevices to explore.

We learn quickly how to walk on the ice.

There are ice tubes to slide through.

Or to hide in.

Or big ice caves.

You have to be careful and not fall into a crevice.

This is so cool.

Watch your step around that one.

Tight squeeze.

Journey across the ice.

The ice twins.

Group photo.

We spot another cave and head up the glacier.

Looks a little scary.

There goes Sue.

Amanda pulls her out and saves the day.

This is a tight squeeze, so they send me in first. They know if I can make it they can.

So many pictures must go to Part 2. Go to page 2
