First we visit the Vancouver fish hatchery, and
learn all about salmon and how they spawn.
Did you know there are five types of Salmon?
Our guide today is Jeff. He is a native to this area
and is a wealth of information.
Our next stop is the Capilano Suspension Bridge.
Sue is facing her fear of heights again. This bridge is 443 ft long.
It is 226 ft above the canyon floor.
It has quite a sway to it.
They made it ! Now we do the tree top suspension bridges.
This is a series of suspension bridges going from tree to tree.
Sue hangs on and crosses all of them.
The 3 sisters at Three Sisters Pond.
More totem poles.
Now we take the cable car up to the top
of Grouse Mountain, overlooking Vancouver.
At the top we find large chainsaw carvings.
This stump has bugs, big bugs !
These represent the fireman, the logger and the planter.
There's about 20 different carvings and they are incredible.
We head over to the grizzly bear habitat preserve.
The preserve is about 5 acres in size.
Then saw the lumber jack show.
This is Sue's white knuckle ride back down the hill.
Before leaving we visit the wolf preserve.
I think it was too warm for them today
Would not want to meet them in the woods.
Tomorrow we head home.
