DAY 10

Hi All,
Today we port in Seward, Alaska.

We have a pretty day for us to explore the Davidson Glacier.

The eagles are a common sight around here. There is an estimated number of 10,000, waiting for the salmon.

First thing we do is board a high speed catamaran.

This thing will cruise at 55mph across the water.

We pass many beautiful waterfalls.

Then we come across a group of sea lions sunning themselves on the rocks.

Coming up to the Davidson Glacier.

Time to get out and hike a mile through the woods.

But first we have to suit up.

Now we hike through the woods, down to the beach.

Prilly and Sue melting the glacier.

We decided to let Sue be our leader 'cause
she said she was related to the Sue tribe.

On Sue's arm is the Alaska's state bird. There are 24 varieties of mosquitoes.
One of them has a Latin name meaning "persistent annoyance.'

Sue with her cunning skill, guides us between the iceburgs.

A giant piece of blue ice that has broken from the glacier. Sue swerves miss it.

A river of water flowing from beneath the glacier.

Huge crevises in the glacer.

Sue looking back at her crew.

All of us looking back at her, while she is not looking where she is going.

Alaska Star flower.

Back to the ship.

Downtown Seward, we had to run in here to find a internet connection.

That's it for today, tomorrow Juneau. Ralph , Prilly, Sue, Bill, & Gwyn
