DAY 4

Hi all,

Today we boarded the train to Denali National Park.

This is an 8hr train ride across Alaska.
Bill decided to let Gwyn go with him.

Getting ready to leave. All Aboard !

We're not even out of town and we have to go to
the dining car for breakfast.

Making new friends, Gloria and Larry

After breakfast we go to the observation car.

Prilly is so happy she sees her first moose.
No wonder she looks like she is attracting them.
Sorry no picture, no positive ID.

As we past through Sherman we see the City Hall

The beaver hut. Beavers up here weigh 50 -70 pounds.

If you knock down their dam they will rebuild it within 24 hrs.

Heading into high country.

Crossing over Hurricane pass. The trestle is over 200 feet high.
Winds here blow up to 90mph.

The scenery is breathtaking.

Coming into Denali .

We did not see much wildlife but the mountains and rivers are beautiful.

This is Ryan, our tour director.

We are staying at the Denali Bluffs hotel for the next 2 nights.

We then went to a dinner show.

Sue was just told that the ribs she was eating were moose ribs.

They sang and danced and we had all you could eat.

Over all , it was a great time.

That wraps it up, see you tomorrow.
